Coconut milk Halwa

Kids love to have desserts and sweets. In order to satisfy their sweet tooth we can offer them occasionally without using lot of oil/ghee and sugar. The recipe I have made is very simple and contains very few ingredients. Coconut milk is generally sweet by its nature so that we can less amount of sweetener to the dish. Now lets go through the recipe.

Coconut Milk Halwa


INGREDIENTS:

  • Coconut milk- 2 cups
  • Organic Jaggery  1 cup or as you required
  • Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  • Cashew nuts - few
  • Cardamom powder - 1 teaspoon 


 PREPARATION:

  1. Take a thick bottomed pan, add coconut milk 1.5 cups(we will use half cup milk later), Jaggery and Rice flour and combine well so that no lumps are present.
  2. Now switch on the flame and adjust to low flame and keep stirring continuously so that it doesn't stick to the bottom. 
  3. After 30 minutes, we can see the dish turns thick and turns little bit glossy. At this stage add remaining milk and stir again continuously. After 10 minutes the recipe becomes thick and now add elachi/cardamom powder and cashew nut pieces or any nuts of your choice.
  4. When the recipe releases little oil,  switch off the flame. The recipe is ready to be served.
