Whole wheat Pasta with Red sauce

Pasta is one of the favorite foods and most of our little kids love to have them. So instead of making pasta made using with refined flour, use whole wheat pasta. Including whole grains in your diet is very essential because it will allow us to intake some dietary fiber for better digestion.  Now-a-days we can find many healthy alternatives in the market which were made with millets too. If available, try to use them instead of regular pasta.
The recipe that I made here contains Whole wheat Pasta recipe including Pasta sauce(Red sauce) recipe.
Let's go through the recipe
Ingredients:
For pasta sauce
Tomatoes medium size -6
Butter - 1 teaspoon
Onion - 1 small
Chilli - 1 small (optional)
Garlic - 6 to 8 cloves
Pasta seasoning - 1 teaspoon
Pepper powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon or as per your taste
For pasta recipe
Whole wheat Pasta -  1 cup
Water- as required (for boiling pasta)
ButterCarrot - 1 medium size
French Beans - handful (10-15)
Garlic - 2 chopped (optional)
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (as per your taste)

Instructions:
For pasta sauce:
1. Wash and clean all the vegetables mentioned above well and keep them ready. Now take red juicy tomatoes (use only fully riped ones) and make puree out of it using a mixer grinder.
2. Take a sauce pan and heat it, add butter and add finely chopped garlic into it. After frying a little bit atleast for 20 seconds, add chopped green chilly and onions and saute them for 2 minutes.
3. Now add the tomato puree and boil until it gets slightly thick.
3. Add pepper powder, salt and pasta seasoning (dried Italian herbs).
4. Saute the sauce until it turns out like paste like consistency.

Meanwhile while preparing the pasta sauce, you can boil pasta. To do this step, take a large vessel that is enought to boil pasta, and add water(2.5 cups for 1 cup of pasta) and salt allow to boil. Then add pasta(I used penne pasta here)and boil the pasta in this water until it gets cooked.

After the pasta gets cooked transfer to a strainer and allow it to cool for sometime to prevent further cooking process.

Take another saute pan and heat butter or oilve oil in it, add garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
Add vegetables chopped carrot and french beans and saute them for a while for 5 minutes and add salt.
Add our prepared pasta sauce and then add boiled pasta and toss them for a while.
Then our pasta is ready to be served. You can top it some freshly grated cheese and parsley leaves if available (I used coriander leaves here in the recipe).

Cooking tips:
  • Be cautious while cooking pasta because it can become soggy in less amount of time. It takes more time than regular pasta. You can check whether it is cooked or not by cutting one pasta using a knife. If it breaks easily into two halves then your pasta is cooked or boiled well and immediately transfer to the strainer to prevent cooking of pasta further.
  • If we want you can add 2 drops of oil into the boiling water to cook the pasta. This step is done to avoid sticking pasta. But I didn't added oil in my recipe even though my pasta didn't stick. This step is optional.
  • If you want your pasta little bit runny, you can add some water after adding some pasta sauce to the recipe.
